This is a hard adjustment for parents to go through. All while trying to figure out the dance of how to have an adult child-parent relationship. In time, you will hopefully be able to enjoy your new identity, interests, and lifestyle.

DO NOT go on about how much you will miss them. Instead, EMPOWER their independence. Remind them you will always be there for them and to call you for the ‘up’ times, too, not just the ‘downs’!”
